What is the difference between a Detail and a Valet?
A detail is more a rejuvenation and protection of the vehicles paintwork. Detailing includes the restoration of the car as much as possible to factory condition, although EDP often restore vehicles to a level which is better than "showroom condition." The detailing of vehicles is far superior to valeting as a lot more care and attention is applied. A typical exterior detail by Gurcharn takes approximately 18 hours of work time. The results are not only exceptional but are also far more durable. The vehicle will look "fresh" wash after wash. Moreover, it involves the client more, i.e. their desired paint finishes, in addition to their interior and leather finish requirements. EDP have always solely been a Detailing company.
I have seen various other detailers advertising their services, why choose Elite?
Gurcharn believes that when a client has bought a car, it is not just a car, you may be realizing a dream. Gurcharn approaches each and every vehicle with respect and one thing he never fails to do is to stun his clients with his work ethic, unrivalled results and professionalism. He is not only probably the highest qualified detailer in the country (formerly Swissol/Swissvax AND Z*mol), but probably one of the most skilled. Gurcharn has also attained great success in preparing concours d’elegance award winning vehicles. Elite have decided not to be part of any one franchise as this will contribute to a compromise in standards; Elite would much rather prefer to set the benchmark for others to follow. Gurcharn uses the best and often the most expensive products from around the world, as well as being the very first company in the UK to use gloss meters and multi stage depth gauges.
Internet images rarely do our work justice, seeing is believing and our clients will vouch for this every time. http://www.elitedetailing.co.uk/content/testimonials.htm After your vehicle has been treated to a full detail by Gurcharn, it would be safe to say that the monetary value of your vehicle will have appreciated more than enough to offset the original cost of the detail. Elite have built up a solid reputation that is second to none and are now widely regarded by many sports/prestige car enthusiasts as the leading detailing company in the UK.
I have ordered/bought a brand new vehicle, does it still need detailing?
A new car rarely leaves the showroom with adequate protection as well as a high quality finish. In fact, a brand new car is not always as new as one would think; the vehicle is usually subject to various contaminants in the air during transportation and long storage times. After which, once the vehicle has arrived at the dealership, the vehicle is commonly subject to a quick wash with a dirty sponge and chamois which will in turn inflict more damage to the paintwork. This is not the perfect start for your pride and joy. For this reason alone the “New Car Detail” has been introduced. It will provide the perfect foundations and the car will look better than brand new as well as being well protected. The client will also be informed with which products to use and how to maintain the high level of finish that Elite achieves.
Why do we use 100% sheepskin mitts to wash the vehicles ?
The 100% Genuine Sheepskin Wash Mitt can not possibly be any softer to the touch, so there is simply nothing better for your vehicle. The lavish strands of wool hold generous amounts of soapy water allowing a thorough and deep cleanse for your car. Thick wool fibres safely trap loose dirt particles during the wash, thus protecting the paint and clearcoat from scratches and swirls unlike conventional sponges. The sheepskin wash mitt accomplishes gentleness beyond what can be achieved with a common sponge or cloth.
Can EDP detail my new car at the dealership before collection?
Yes we can. This can easily be arranged, once you have booked us, we will happily prepare your vehicle at the dealership before collection day.
How long does a full detail take?
There is a no straight forward answer to this question. The principle reason being, we cannot determine an exact time without evaluating the condition of the paintwork before hand. This is a common question and we insist on not letting the client down so we therefore prefer to assess the car before hand. Although generally, a full exterior detail (excluding paint correction) will take at least 10 hours to complete. The Elite Detailer’s aim is to provide 100% customer satisfaction and a task as this should not be rushed.
How do I know if I require paint correction?
After evaluating the vehicle we can determine whether the car will require paint correction. A full account of what is required will be proposed and any queries can be answered before the detail takes place. Paint correction will be required on swirl marks, bird dropping stains, etc. Once completed, the results will be extremely noticeable and all reflections will be clear through the paintwork.
Is Elite insured to work on vehicles?
Yes we are fully insured to work on your pride and joy.
If the detail takes over one day will this cost extra?
No, the original quoted price is the final price. It is more than likely that the only time it will take over one day is when the vehicle is of a substantial size and requires a full stage paint corrective process as well as the detail.
How long will the protection last?
The protection system will last a considerable amount of time. There is no concrete answer to how long exactly as there are various factors that will influence the longevity of the protection. Below is a list of just a few factors:
• How frequently the vehicle is used
• How frequently the vehicle is washed
• What products are used when washing
• Where the vehicle is parked/stored
• The climate also is a factor, whether the vehicle is subjected to wind/rain/snow/salty roads etc
On average the protection will last approximately 6 months. However, it does depend on the factors mentioned above.
How far will Elite Travel?
Elite Detailing and protection are based in Birmingham and the majority of our client base is in the Midlands although we do still have a large client base in the London area. Elite will travel to an “out of catchment” area at an additional cost, if requested. The extra fee will be to cover our traveling expenses only.
Do you need to work in a garage or other shelter?
If we are out on call then we do not require to be working in the garage as we keep a marquee in the van. However, if the weather is excessively poor we would prefer to book on a rescheduled date. There is no extra charge for this service.
Do we need to provide electricity and water?
EDP are totally self sufficient. We carry our own supply of fresh filtered water as well as our own power supply.
What hours do Elite Detailing work?
We are available to start work at pretty much any time in the morning. We aim to work around at the client’s convenience. There are no closing times at Elite as it is often important to work late into the evening, if necessary, to ensure impeccable end results.
I would like my vehicle prepared for a concourse/show and shine event?
Elite Detailing will be delighted to prepare a car for such competitions. However, we will have to evaluate the vehicle to determine a price. An average concours detail will take Gurcharn about 100 hours to complete and he has had great success in preparing various show winning vehicles.
Just give us a call (07896 941880) and we can arrange a suitable time that is convenient for you. Alternatively, you can email us at info@elitedetailing.co.uk
